At Karussell Festival 2025 in Copenhagen, BJM Studio presented a one-of-a-kind interactive disco ball that transformed the dancefloor into a mesmerizing, ever-changing spectacle. The ball could rotate, stretch, and compress, dynamically altering its geometry in real time.
Beams of light refracted through the smoky atmosphere, scattering across the crowd in unpredictable patterns. Visitors standing beneath the ball could see themselves reflected in its mirrored surfaces, becoming part of the kinetic artwork. Each movement created a unique interplay of light, shadow, and reflection, turning the dancefloor into an immersive, living environment.
This project explored perception, interaction, and the playful relationship between technology and space, allowing the audience to not just watch, but actively experience and inhabit the artwork.
